Monica (Momma) Jean Horton Greene age 54 of Morristown Tennessee left her earthly home and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday morning October 26th, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving family when she gained her angel wings and entered heaven through the pearly gates.
She was born on November 3rd, 1965 in Maryland. Monica was raised in Maryland and later moved to Tennessee in 1986. She graduated Andover High school in 1984. She attended Walters State Community College where she obtained an Associates degree. She had a passion and love for caring for the elderly population. She worked as an activity director for a local nursing home for over 16 years.
She loved the Lord; she had received Christ earlier on in her life. She was a member of Nina Baptist Church. She had such a sweet spirit and loved to praise her God. She shared her testimony with everyone that she encountered. Her faith was strong. She was so ready to go to heaven.
She loved her family unconditionally through thick and thin. She was a wonderful mother, wife, mammy and friend. She was beautiful inside and out, she had such a big heart. She had never met a stranger; she would help anyone she could. She loved everyone that she met. She had such a beautiful smile that would light up the room. She was always so happy and full of personality and style.
Preceded in death by her parents Tommy and Jayne Horton, and her grandson Cannon Griffin. She is survived by her loving, understandable soulmate and husband of 24 years Mark Allen Greene whom she loved dearly. She was a loving and devoted mother to her “3 Musketeers” Justin Pierce Horton, Ashleigh Pierce Mosier and her husband Michael, Jordan Pierce, and his spouse Jocelyn. Her grandchildren were the love of her life Mr. Callon Pierce and her princess Ms. Annabelle (Belle) Mosier. Brothers John Horton (Crissy Bell) and Richard Horton. Special niece Taylor Horton. In-laws Dale and Carolyn Greene. Brother in laws Bobby Greene (Stephanie), Timmy Greene (Crystal) and Tony Greene. Special Daughter DaNale Viney and Special mom Alma Pierce. Several nieces and nephews and many friends.
She will be forever missed dearly by her family and friends. Her great personality, smile and love will forever live on in the lives of the people she has touched.
She has requested a Celebration of Life. Monica wrote “I am going home, I do not want sadness, I only want happy tears.” Pallbearers will be Jordan Pierce, John Horton, Richard Horton, Michael Mosier, Ethan Skeen & Tony Greene. The body will lie in state for viewing at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City on Friday October 30, 2020 from 12pm-230pm. We will meet at Jefferson Memorial Gardens at 3pm on October 30th, 2020 to lay our beautiful sweet momma to rest. Rev Jimmy Norris will be officiating the services.
