Mitchell Joseph Bailey

Mitchell Joseph Bailey, 20, born in Anderson, SC, but current resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018. He attended Dutchtown High School in Louisiana where he enjoyed being on the swim team and the Prostart culinary team. He was a recent graduate of Louisiana Culinary Institute and was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in 2014. Mitchell is survived by his parents, John and Lucy Bailey of Prairieville, LA; sister, Melissa Bailey and her fiancé' Joe Williams; grandparents, Stergal and Carol Ann Bailey of Dandridge and Lottie DeRidder of Parrotsville, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Georges DeRidder. The family will receive friends at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 13 followed by funeral service at 11:00am. Interment at Swann's Chapel Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
