Michael Francis Keane, Col, USMC, Ret.

Michael Francis Keane, Col., USMC, Ret, died at his home on Monday, December 3, 2012 after a valiant battle with cancer. Mike and his wife Judy moved to Baneberry in 2002. Mike, a 40 year USMC veteran, served in Korea and Vietnam, and also several years at the National Security Agency at Ft. Meade, Maryland. As a private citizen, he served on the Baneberry Planning Commission from 2003 and as City Mayor since 2006. Mike is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judith Keane; also daughter, Michele; sons, Mark and Darryl; seven grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles; sister, Rita; and several friends and other family members. An Irish Wake and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013, 4:30pm at the Baneberry Community Center, with Military Honors. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the town of Baneberry for a commemorative tree at the Baneberry Community Center, or to the Wounded Warrior?s Project, P.O.
