Melissa Sue Thomas

MELISSA SUE THOMAS, age 55, of New Market, TN passed away on November 25, 2020. She was an employee of the State of Tennessee for 30 years in day care licensing. She loved her job and all her co-workers. Melissa loved to travel, take pictures, and scrapbooking. She was a people person with lots of good friends. She found no fault in anyone and loved life, living life to its fullest. Preceded in death by her father, Bob Thomas; grandparents, Conley and Alice Kivett, Winford and Gladys Thomas. She is survived by her mother, Bernice Thomas; uncles, Raymond Thomas, Gene and Talbert Kivett; several cousins and many friends from everywhere, including her special travel friends. Family and friends will gather at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for the graveside service at 1:00 p.m. with Mike Shepherd officiating. Friends may come by the funeral home and pay their respects Tuesday from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. In consideration of the health and safety of all those attending the service, Farrar Funeral Home strongly encourages all CDC guidelines be followed, including the use of face masks.
