MAXIE FRENCH, age 88, of Dandridge, TN left all her pain and worries behind Monday evening, November 16, 2015 when she saw the face of Jesus. She was reunited with the love of her life, Ray, a love story of 68 years. Maxie was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; parents, T.T. and Josie Raye Dalton; sisters, Ruth, Edith and Willie Mae. She is survived by daughters, Shelia Raye and Shannon Elaine and husband Mike; her beloved granddaughter, Jamia (Bryan) and grandson Jeff (Melissa); great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Bryanna (the apples of her eyes), Robert and Colin; sisters, Shirley and Blan; several nieces and nephews. Maxie and Ray never had a son, but they had Kyle Underwood, who they loved as a son along with his wife, Sandy.
Maxie was a life-long member of the Green Hill Baptist Church where she touched many lives through her Sunday School classes, children’s choir, vacation bible school and her love of singing. The last few years, Central Heights Baptist Church has been her church home, “Mom” as they lovingly called her will be greatly missed by her Central Heights church family, whom she loved so much. She was retired from the Jefferson Co. School System where she worked at the Piedmont Elementary Cafeteria serving the “best rolls” and lots of smiles over the years.
Many thanks to Sharon, Shelley and Sue for being with us during these difficult days. Special thanks to the staff at Franklin Cottage and Jefferson Co. Nursing Home for the care and compassion shown to Mom and also to us.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, November 21, 2015, 2:00pm at the Central Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Lindsey, Rev. Jesse Buell and Bro. Kyle Underwood officiating. Interment to follow at Piedmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE
