Max Allen Callis

Max Allen Callis, age 76, of Strawberry Plains, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003 following an extended illness. Mr. Callis was a member of Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church and was a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Navy. He was a retired electronics engineer from the Magnavox Corporation with 17 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Callis and daughters, Cheri L. Callis, both of the home; two sisters, Virginia Shipman of California and Connie Colson of Indiana; four brothers, Edgar Callis of Indiana, Royce Callis of Tennessee, Jerry Callis of Indiana and Larry Callis of Maryland; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, April 28, 2003 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Rev. Dennis Maxey officiating. Entombment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, April 27, 2003 at the funeral home.
