Mary Martin Wilkerson

MARY MARTIN WILKERSON, age 81, of New Port Richey, FL, formerly of Dandridge, TN passed away on April 11, 2013 at her home. Mary was born February 5, 1932 in Piedmont, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Noah and Flora Martin. She was united in marriage to Warren Wilkerson on September 7, 1957 in Crossville, TN. Mary worked with elementary children from many years after earning her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Early Childhood Education form Georgia State University. Most recently, she volunteered regularly at Richey Elementary in New Port Richey. Mary was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed fellowship in the Lydia circle, and various volunteer activities. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Warren Wilkerson; her children, Becky McQueen and Charles (Shelia) Wilkerson, all of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren, Amanda McQueen of Sandy Springs, GA, Rachel McQueen, Jaclyn Wilkerson and Noah Wilkerson all of Fayetteville, GA; sisters, Shirley Wyatt of Jackson, GA, Dorothy Hamby of Crossville, TN and Lois Potts of Dalton, GA; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Food Pantry Fund, 5901 Indiana Ave., New Port Richey, FL 34652.
