Mary Mills Walker

MARY MILLS WALKER, age 92, of Knoxville, TN passed away Wednesday morning, October 3, 2013 at her home in Karns. She was a long time member of Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church, Karns Lions Club, and the Karns Volunteer Fire Department. She was an avid gardener and loved to sew and knit. She loved her pets and had many of them throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Curtis W. Walker; daughters, Janice Walker and Betty Walker Wells; father and mother, Hubert and Nellie R. Mills; brother, Harold Mills (Devoda) of Etowah; sister and brother-in-law, Midge and Dewey Todd of Oak Ridge. She leaves to mourn her passing son, William Todd Walker (Tyjwana); granddaughter, Madison Lea Walker; grandsons, Will Walker and Jeremy Wells; great-grandsons, Seth and Nathan Wells; niece, Sandra Patrick (Jerry). The family would like to thank her caregivers, Sarah Lewis, Theresa Dockery, Nadyne Layce, Faith and Katey Steward for their kind and understanding care. Thanks also goes to Smoky Mountain Hospice for their always helpful nurses. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2013 at Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Catherine Nance and Rev. Carl Jenkins officiating. Receiving of friends will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Family and friends will meet at Farrar Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday to proceed to Hillcrest Cemetery in Dandridge for a 2:00 p.m. graveside interment service.
