Mrs. Shaver was born in Talbott, TN to John Simpson and Alice Bishop Rines and had lived in Roanoke, Virginia since 1954. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, L. V. Shaver; sisters, Annie Josephine Rines and Charlotte Rines Rodgers; brothers, Marshall T. Rines and Walter King Rines. She is survived by her children, son, James W. Shaver and wife, Norma Jean, of N. Augusta, SC; daughters, Susan Shaver Knight and husband, F. Robert, of Sarasota, FL, Mary Alice Shaver Wertz and husband, Dennis, of Cookeville, TN, and Charlotte K. Shaver of Roanoke, Va; two granddaughters, Katy Wertz Palk and husband, Roger, of Baxter, TN, Sarah Wertz Phillips and husband, Kris, of Richlands, NC. She is also survived by her sister, Laura Rines Gregory of Talbott, TN; brothers, George E. Rines and wife, Esther, of Knoxville, TN, Robert R. Rines and wife, Missouria, of Talbott, TN, and Lester F. Rines and wife, Pat, of Townsend, TN; sisters-in-law, Theresa Rines of Highland, IN, Virginia Rines of Morristown, TN, Mary Lynn Shaver Bales of Morristown, TN, Ina Shaver of Alcoa, TN, BeBe Shaver of Murfreesboro, TN; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, February 15, 2008 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City with Reverend R. J. Seal, pastor of Lebanon Baptist Church. Mrs. Shaver was baptized and had attended Lebanon Baptist Church until her move to Virginia. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Martha Sunderland Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
