Mary M. Payne

Mary M. Payne, age 81 of Sevierville, TN formerly of New Jersey passed away, Monday, June 24, 2024 at her home. She was born, December 2, 1942, the daughter of the late D. James “Jack” and Dorothy Marotta. Mary had a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in speech and drama and taught school for many years. She lived most of her life in New Jersey before retiring and moving to Tennessee in 2007. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed singing, gardening and animals. Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Julie Payne; grandchildren, Jeffrey Payne, Jr., Amanda Perrone and Cody Eilers; great-grandchildren, Trevor and Jaidyn; brother, Edwin E. Marotta; nieces, Julia Marotta and Jamie Longwell; nephew, Christopher Marotta. Funeral services will held Wednesday, July 3, 2024, 2:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge Chapel with Father Migual Veleze officiating. The interment graveside will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm prior to the funeral service.
