Mary Belle Parker McKay, of Jefferson City, TN and formerly of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was born in Horry Couonty, SC. Mary moved to Tennessee in 1943 and lived in Rockwood, Rogersville, Elizabethton and Knoxville. She was employed for over 25 years at J. C. Penney on Gay Street in Knoxville and was active in the Baptist Hospital Auxiliary. She was an active member of Inskip, Arlington and Broadway Baptist Churches during the 43 years she lived in Knoxville. She became a member of the First Baptist Church of Dandridge in 1997, when she moved to Jefferson County. She is preceded in death by her son, Samuel L. McKay. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, B. H. (Jim) McKay of Jefferson City; daughter, Rebekah mcCray and son in law, Dr. Robert McCray of Dandridge; daughter, Janice Weinberg and son in law, Charles Weinberg of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Angela McCray Bowlin and husband Jeffery of Dandridge, James Kautz IV and wife, Christy of Acworth, GA, John Kautz and wife, Terry of Charleston, SC; great grandchildren, Leslie and Brad Bowlin of Dandridge, and Alyssa, Evan and Connor Kautz of Acworth, GA; step grandchildren, Charles T. Weinberg of Asheville, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel, Jefferson City, with Dr. Robert McCray officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Dandridge. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
