Newman Purkey Ogle, age 93, of Jefferson City, TN passed away at 7:50 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. She was a Member of First Baptist Church Jefferson City. She was a Volunteer at Jefferson Memorial Hospital for over 30 years and was preceded in death by her husband: Reverend Carl Ogle. Survived by son, Gary Lynn Purkey of Pigeon Forge, TN; daughter, Janet Ogle Justice and husband, Joe F. Justice of Florida; son, Carl R. Ogle, Jr. and wife, Tammy Ogle of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Scott Justice and wife, Ashley Justice; Forest Dorkowski and husband, Mike Dorkowski, Natalie Justice, Jessica Justice, Aaron Ogle, Haley Ogle, Melissa Danielle Purkey and Anthony Morgan Purkey; great grandchildren, Kate Justice and Doug Justice; sister-in-law, Elsie Newman of New Market, TN and niece, Barbara Newman Whittaker of New Market, TN Funeral Services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2006 from the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City with Dr. Gene Wilder, Reverend James Kinser and Reverend Jim Dampier officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church. Family and friends will gather 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The body will be moved to the First Baptist Church 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, 1610 Russell Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760, or to EBC Costa Rica Mission Account.
