She was a member of A.M.E. Zion Methodist Church of Swannsylvania. She was preceded in death by her father, Elbert Ray; sister, Judy Marie; brothers, Eddie and Freddie Ray, Leroy Ray, Curtis Branner; grandparents, Della and Mitch Ray, Roy and Mary Branner; special aunt, Vera Cuberson; best friend, Mary Jen Curberson. She is survived by her mother, Curley Ray of Jefferson City; daughter, Tracy Ray of Knoxville; son, Mitchell Ray of Knoxville; God-son, Orlando (Tatorbug) Ray of Strawberry Plains; sisters, Elizabeth Cotner (Todd Cotner) of White Pine, Brenda Swaggerty of Newport; brothers, Ralph Ray (Kim Ray) of Knoxville, Steven Ray (Mary Ray) of North Carolina; grandchildren, Kimberly Ray of Newport; Jordan Ray, Terrannie Ray and Blake Ray of Dandridge, Jakota Ray and Aletheus Ray of Newport; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and many loved friends; devoted nephew, Joseph Ray of Dandridge; devoted niece, Kristi (Lullie) Robertson of California; devoted cousin, Rikki Rudd of Knoxville. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, May 15, 2008 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Reverend Steve Simpson, Reverend Billy Branner and Reverend Rosie Cuberson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning to proceed to Dandridge Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
