MARY GARRETT HOPPER, age 97, of Dandridge, TN, a resident of the Jefferson County Nursing Home, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was born in Greeneville, SC on January 9, 1915, the daughter of the late Herbert and Minta Garrett. She graduated from Greeneville High School in Greeneville, SC. A friend to all and a stranger to none, Mary was gifted with the ability to genuinely connect with anyone, as she will be remembered from her many years of working at the White Store in Dandridge. She loved knitting, sewing, cooking and the many cats that passed through her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Frances Caroline Garrett; a brother, Thomas William Garrett; and a son-in-law, William L. Rea of San Diego, CA. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Line and husband F. Bennett of Jonesborough, TN, Marylyn Bible and husband Lloyd of Dandridge, TN, and Roberta Rea of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Olivia Line Spain and husband Joe of Franklin, TN; and their children, Adreanna and Audrey, Garrett Line of Alpharetta, GA, Bennett R. Line of Johnson City, TN, Stuart Rea and wife Shayla; and their children, Emma, Hannah, Kevin and Erica of San Diego, CA, and Chimene Bozarth and husband Stephen, and their children, Andrew and Mary Ellen of Raleigh, NC; a special friend and caregiver, Patsy Morelock of Talbot, TN; and a special friend, Lucy West of JCNH. The family would like to thank Jefferson County Nursing Home in Dandridge for their loving care and support. Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Darrell Chambers officiating. Interment graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Jarnigan Cemetery in Morristown, Tn. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening prior to the service.
