Mary Ellen Gammon Surrett

MARY ELLEN GAMMON SURRETT, age 84, of White Pine, TN passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of White Pine. Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years. Henry F. Surrett; parents, Charles and Marguerite Gammon; brothers, Edwin and Robert Gammon; infant grandson, Michael Blake Price. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kaye Surrett of White Pine; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Mike Price of Dandridge; grandchildren, Laura Price Reece and husband, Jack, Farrah Surrett Newman and husband, Will, Matthew Surrett, Kristin Price and Justin Price; great-grandsons, John Willis Newman, Emmitt Newman and Holden Reece; sisters, Marjorie Gammon Smith and Lois Gammon Gill; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Jefferson County Nursing Home and to Cindy Wright and all the other caregivers that took care of Mary Ellen while she was at home. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Farrar White Pine Chapel with Rev. Mark McFadden officiating. Interment will follow in White Pine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of White Pine or to Jefferson County Nursing Home Activity Fund.
