MARY E. MORIN, age 87, of Morristown, TN and formerly of Jefferson City, TN, passed away on May 2, 2020 at Life Care Center of Morristown. Mary is the last survivor of three children of James and Mary Ann Moore and is survived by five nephews and nieces dispersed throughout New England. Mary was educated at the Worcester, MA grade and high schools and graduated from Martha Washington University in Virginia. It was there she was recruited by the CIA, where she met and married Roy Du Fresne. They were assigned to Washington, DC, California, Japan and Germany. Upon Roy’s retirement, they settled in Talbott, TN because of the proximity to his sister, Lucille Goyette. Roy died on June 28, 1975. Mary had worked at Bradley’s Hardware in Morristown, but after Roy’s death she became a respiratory therapist at the old Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Subsequent to that, she worked in Dandridge, TN with the Food Stamp program and the Rehabilitation program. On May 27, 1982 Mary married George Morin, an old acquaintance from Massachusetts. Together they participated in the funding of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jefferson City, TN. Here they remained active until Mary came down with a series of illnesses, which kept her in and out of hospitals and nursing homes. Private graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Father Patrick Resen officiating.
