Mary Jo Denton

MARY JO DENTON, age 82, of Dandridge, TN passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Kindred Nursing Home in Knoxville, TN. She was of the Methodist faith. She graduated from Maury High School in Dandridge, TN and shortly after moved to Nashville, TN, where she continued her education and worked for several years before moving back to Dandridge. Mary was a lady of many talents. She loved oil painting, animals, flower gardening, writing letters and kept detailed records of the family history. She retired from The Magnavox Company after many years of service as a secretary. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Howard and Mae Denton; sister, Betty Stipes; and brother, Phillip Denton. She is survived by her brother, Bill (Joyce) Denton of Dandridge; sisters, Marti (Larry) Elder of Dandridge, and Sue Denton of Knoxville, TN; nieces and nephews, Diane (Jack) Quisenberry, David (Sharon) Denton, Dustin (Robin) Mantooth, Luke (Kalynn) Quisenberry, Mitchel Mantooth and Michael (Stacey) Stipes. The family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Nursing Home for her care over the past several weeks.
