MARY RUTH BUSLER, age 86, of Appalachian Christian Village in Johnson City, TN passed away October 9, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mary Ruth was born at home in Dandridge, TN on February 20, 1929 to Oscar Jobe ("Tommy") and Mary Jane Parrot. She attended Green Hill Elementary School and Maury High School and earned her GED in 1957. She was employed by Scarborough Knitting Mill, Gaby Hosiery Mill and Magnavox of Jefferson City, where she retired after 34 years of service. Mary Ruth was married to Beecher Busler on June 22, 1946. They resided in Dandridge until moving to Gray, TN in 1993. She lived in Gray until moving to Appalachian Christian Village in 2013. Mary Ruth was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Dandridge. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant brother and sister, and two infant daughters. Survived by one daughter, Dianne Jackson and husband Bobby of Jonesborough, TN; one grandson Bobby Joe and wife Sharon; great granddaughter Murphy Rose; and great grandson, Walker Lee of Pauline, SC; special nephew, Ricky Busler.
The family would like to give special thanks to personal caregivers Candace, Collin, Lisa and Debbie Gibson, RN at Appalachian Christian Village. Also special thanks to the nursing staff at Johnson City Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 11, 2015, 2:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Chambers officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
