Marvin "Big John" "Rube" Nichols

MARVIN ?BIG JOHN? ?RUBE? NICHOLS, age 74, of Talbott, TN passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 7, 2008. He was a retired employee of Rugel Woodworking and a farmer. He was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Jeneva Nichols of Kyles Ford; brothers, Howard and Ken Nichols of Talbott, Otha Nichols of Massachusetts; sisters, Ruth Messer of Talbott, Tava Adams of Mooresburg, Beulah Lawson of Kyles Ford and nephew, Glen Messer of Talbott. He is survived by his brother, Audluy Nichols of Morristown; wife of 52 years, Mary Jane Anderson Nichols; son, James Marvin Nichols and companion, Sue Buckner of Jefferson City; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Jamie Rimmer Nichols of Talbott; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rimmer of Talbott; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 9, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City and Wednesday evening, December 10, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. at McNeil Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Horace Greene and Reverend Ralph Messer officiating. Graveside interment service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Baker Cemetery in Hancock County. Memorial donations may be made to Farrar Funeral Home.
