Martha Duke Tuggle

MARTHA DUKE TUGGLE,age 95 of Memphis, TN passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice, Knoxville, TN. She was born May 30, 1907 in Martin, TN and was a life long member of the Capleville United Methodist Church of Memphis, TN. Martha attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and was a graduate of the University of Memphis. Upon graduation she pursued her career in elementary education as a teacher in the Shelby County School System where she retired. She was also a member of the Diamond Circle (75 years) in Kappa Delta Sorority. Widow of the late Foster A. Tuggle, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Charles Hall of White Pine, TN; granddaughters, Elizabeth Hall Frazee of Avon, IN, Susan Hall Tall of Phoenixville, PA; Pamela Hall Birkholz of Guntersville, AL and four great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to he Capleville United Methodist Church Restoration Project, 4725 Riverdale Rd, Memphis, TN 38141 or the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Rd, Knoxville, TN 37909. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, December 14, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. at the Capleville United Methodist Church with Rev. Edward W. Walton officiating.
