Martha V. Glass

MARTHA V. GLASS , age 86, of Jefferson City, TN passed away suddenly Friday morning, September 17, 2010 at her residence. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Glass, Sr.; son, Harold W. Glass, Jr.; infant daughter; parents, D. M. and Trula Vineyard; brother, Jim Vineyard. A very active member of First United Methodist Church, she was a hospital volunteer at Jefferson Memorial Hospital for 45 years, former county commissioner for 18 years, former member of 911 board, member of Farm Bureau Board; and many other farm and civic organizations. Survived by children, Gaye Scalf of Morristown, TN; John Glass of Nashville; Rebecca (Larry) Skeen of Morristown; grandchildren, Leanne Hankins, Thad Scalf, Josh, Andrew and Tyler Skeen, Gretchen Glass Leming and Gabe Glass; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eva Vineyard of Blaine; niece, Debbie Langley and nephew, Steve Vineyard. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010 at First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City with Rev. Doug Wilder officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Family and friends will gather at 9:00 a.m. Monday at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 10:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
