Martha Evelyn Taylor Blackburn, age 92. of White Pine, TN passed away Monday morning at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, February 12,2018 following a brief illness. She was a life-long resident of Jefferson County except for the past two years living in Oak Ridge, TN at Canterfield of Oak Ridge. Martha was born July 15,1925, the youngest of five children, to parents Eugene Taylor and Maggie Ruth Starnes Taylor, who preceded her in death. Also preceded in death by siblings Huron Taylor, Eugene Taylor Jr., Mary Margaret Taylor Allan and Jacob Taylor. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Stanley Blackburn, to whom she was married for 45 years. Martha was known for her loving kind touch of calm to ones that were sick while she worked as a licensed practical nurse in White Pine and the surrounding area for a number of years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church until its closing and then attended First United Methodist Church in White Pine. Martha is survived by her daughter, Martha Gail Archbold and son-in-law Dennis of Oak Ridge, and grandchildren Amy Alcorn(Chris) and Alan Archbold(Jodi), and 7 much loved great grandchildren. She leaves many friends and relatives by whom she will be missed and the many memories of her cherished. Interment will be Friday February 16,2018 at Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 1:00 pm with receiving of friends to follow from 2-3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in White Pine. Funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm with Reverend Mike Hensley and Reverend Chris Ray officiating. The family will also have fellowship with friends following the services at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 146, White Pine, TN 37890, or Hebron Presbyterian Church, 167 Hebron Church Rd, Jefferson City, TN 37760, or charity of your choice in Martha’s memory.
