Marsha Ellen Hargrave, age 53 of Knoxville, TN formerly of Jefferson City, TN, passed away at 2:38 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Dec. 21, 2002 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville after a courageous battle with diabetes and kidney failure. She was a member of First Baptist church of Boone, NC and attended First Baptist Church of Jefferson City. She was a 1971 graduate of Appalachian State Teachers College in Boone, NC and did post graduate work in business at Walters State Community College in Morristown, TN. Following graduation there, she worked for four years in the Office of the Dean of academic Instruction. She was employed as a cost accountant with Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, now WBXT Y-12 L.L. C. in Oak Ridge, Tenn for 23 years. She was interested in music, history, cross stitching and had a great love for her 2 cats. She is survived by her parents, Marshall and Roberta Hargrave of Jefferson City; sister and brother in law, Carolyn and Barron Lee of Dallas, NC; nephew, B. Whitney Lee of Jefferson City; and niece and husband, Lauren and Mark Dixon of Gastonia, NC. Graveside services will be conducted at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Monday, December 23, 2002 at 2 p.m. Memorial services will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday evening, December 23, 2002 from the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Dr. Gene Wilder and Mr. Barron Lee officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday evening prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be given to the National Kidney Foundation, 4450 Walker Ave., Knoxville, TN 37917 or to the Missions offering in your local church.
