MARJORIE WELLS WILDER, age 83, of Dandridge, TN passed away at Jefferson Memorial Hospital on Sunday morning, January 13, 2013. Marjorie was born on February 17, 1929. She was a life time member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she was active in every facet of church activities for many years. Marjorie will join so many loved ones who preceded her in death. She was married for 25 years to her loving husband, Glenn Wilder, who died on her birthday in 1974. Also preceding her in death are her parents, Harry Tinsley and Iva Lindsey Wells and her infant sister, Wanda; her dear Wells family and these brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Tenie Wilder, Earl and Dorothy Wilder, Creed and Mary Wilder, Evelyn and Frank Gass and Cec Wilder, as well as many lifelong childhood friends. Marjorie lived her entire 83 years on the Wells farm, which has been in the Wells family since 1878. She was a loving, dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to these survivors: children, James D. (Jimmy and Brenda) Wilder, Lora (Janie and Jim) Slaton, John M. (Johnny) Wilder, and Rebecca (Becky and Wayne) Maples; grandchildren, Eva (Richard) Talley, Tim (Jennifer) Wilder, Emma (Mike) Long, Deke Slaton, Jonah Wilder, Jeremiah Wilder, Amanda Maples and Dustin Wilder; great-grandchildren, Will, Ty, Jake, and Kate Talley, Michael Evan, Alexis, and Harley Long, Kelly Diane and K. J. Wilder, and Cameron and Caleb Maples; special ?son?, Craig Parker, and her dear cousin, Harry (Pete and Dorothy) Morie, the oldest surviving member of the John Sevier Wells family, and many nieces and nephews. Marjorie graduated from Maury High School in the class of 1946, which remained close friends for life, especially her classmates James and Silvia Snodderly and Billie Jean Hickman. Her love of family and friends also extends to the loving and caring staff of Jefferson County Nursing Home, where she has been a resident for the past two years. Funeral service will be held at Mt. Zion Methodist Church of Dandridge on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Friends may come celebrate the life and love of Marjorie Wilder at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow this celebration of life at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery Trust Fund, or any charity of your choice.
