Marjorie Gammon Smith

MARJORIE GAMMON SMITH, age 87, of White Pine, TN passed away April 19, 2017 at her home after a long illness. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of White Pine, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Glenn R. Smith; parents, Charles Lee Gammon and Marguarite Hammer Gammon; brothers, Edwin Gammon and Robert Gammon; sisters, Mary Ellen Gammon Surrett and Lois Gammon Gill; son-in-law, Eddie “Ed” Jones. She is survived by her children, Glenda Jones, Charles Smith (Teresa), David Smith (Tammy), and Amy Maxey (Roger); grandchildren; Chanati Jones Moore (Jason), Glenn Smith, Jeremy Smith, Madison Smith, Lurelle Maxey and Caleb Maxey; great-grandsons, Cole and Carson Moore; several nieces, nephews and other family members; special family friend and caregiver, Laura Standifer. The family wishes to give a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of White Pine or to Smoky Mountain Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at First United Methodist Church White Pine. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 9:50 a.m. Saturday morning at Seahorn Chapel Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
