Broadway Blvd. Jefferson City, TN 37760 Phone (865) 475-3892 Fax (865) 475-9916 MARILYN ROSE TURNER, age 63, died March 15, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, TN, following a brief illness. Marilyn had lived in Blount County for the past 8 months with her brother, Dr. Mack Turner, sister-in-law, Jane, and mother, Rose M. Turner. She regularly attended Peck?s Memorial United Methodist Church, where her brother serves as pastor. She was a contributing member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in Morristown, TN for 33 years. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Cass M. Turner, Sr., who also served as the pastor of Peck?s Memorial from 1949-1951. As well as the family members aforementioned, she is survived by her sister, Linda Clements and her husband, Blair; sister, Kay Overbay and her husband, Brown; niece, Shannon Turner, niece Jenni Schlomer and her husband, Brian; nephew, Mark Ovberbay and his wife, Jeannie; niece, Kathy Fox and husband, Don; great nieces, Kristen Overbay, Laura Fox, Tessa Schlomer; and great-nephew, Jonathan Fox. Marilyn enjoyed University of Tennessee athletic events, knitting, conversing with her friends and family members over the phone, listening to music (especially religious), religious programs, church events, and traveling. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, at Peck?s Memorial UMC, located at 2438 Wilkinson Pike in Maryville. A Service of Death and Resurrection will be held at the church starting at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken Tucker, Dr. Paul Marshbanks and Dr. Mack Turner officiating. The family will also receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Seahorns Chapel UMC in Dandridge with graveside interment services to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests individuals make donations to Liberty Hill UMC, Peck?s Memorial UMC, or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Blount Memorial Hospital for all their excellent care provided for Marilyn and their hospitality to the family.
