Marie Miller Young

Marie Whaley Miller Young, age 87 of the Patriot Hills community, Jefferson City passed away peacefully at her residence Wednesday, June 13, 2018, surrounded by her beloved family and friends. Marie was a very faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Jefferson City and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 3380. Marie also served as a “Pink Lady” at Jefferson Memorial Hospital for many years. Marie was proceeded in death by late husbands John C. Miller, Jr. and Dr. Robert Young, parents Rube and Pearl Whaley, sisters Verl Horton and Margaret Price She is survived by her children Jeanne Miller Fox of Dandridge, and Jeff Miller of Pittman Center; grandchildren, Adam Gann, Brandon (Jamie) Gann both of Dandridge and Lacy Miller of Jefferson City; great-grandchildren, Mikenna, Elly, Lauryn and Lydia Gann and Ashlyn Davis all of Dandridge; special in-laws Ken (Carolyn) Wilson of Chattanooga, Charles (Jeannette) Young of Augusta, GA, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, June 15th, 2018, at 7:00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. Interment will be Saturday, June 16th, at 9:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Dandridge. Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 prior to the service of Friday. A special thank you to the people at Caris Healthcare, nurses Justin, Lisa, Sandy; CNAs Angela and Lynn; Chaplain Bobby, Social Worker Lora, and the ones that helped care for Marie in her final weeks.
