MARGARET LILLIE HUDSON GREENE, age 95, of Darby House (formerly of White Pine, TN) passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Greene; parents, Charles Edward and Charlsie (Bible) Hudson; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Polly Hudson of Winchester, TN; and several cousins, including Margaret Hill. She was a faithful member of Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the French Broad River on October 9, 1927. She was the oldest living member of the Leadvale congregation. She taught Sunday School and VBS for many years, along with numerous other positions in the church. In 2001, at age 84,she served as chairperson for the historical committee and with the help of that committee, compiled the information that culminated into a book preserving the valuable history of Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church. This process required talking to many people, traveling many miles, and many hours of work. She loved her church and her Savior dearly. Her favorite verse was Ephesians 2:8. In the last few years of her life, she worshipped with First Baptist Church of Morristown through their TV ministry. She faithfully watched Sunday morning and evening services with her Bible in hand until just the last few weeks of her life. She is survived by family members, her church family, and many friends whose consistent visits, phone calls and love brightened each of her days. Very special thanks to the staff of Darby House for their extraordinary care, love, and compassion during the last few weeks of her life.
