Margaret H. Childress

MARGARET H. CHILDRESS, age 80, of Talbott, TN passed away on January 17, 2018. She was a graduate of Carson Newman University with a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee. She was a longtime educator in the area and a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City. Preceded in death by husband, Denver Childress; parents, Bennie and Pearlie Haynes; brother, Everett B. Haynes. She is survived by her son, Mark A. Childress and wife Mary Ann; daughter, Kimberly C. Gjedde and husband David; grandchildren, Stephanie Patty and husband Dawson, Andrew Childress, Kennedy Childress and Matthew Gjedde. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Carey Herring officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Denver R. Childress Mathematics Scholarship at Carson Newman University, 1646 Russell Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
