Manley Eugene ?Gene? Grooms, age 70 of Baneberry, TN died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Mary?s Hospital of Jefferson City. He was the son of the late Manley and Lula King Grooms. Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Shirley Y. Grooms of the home; daughter, Karen Y. George and husband Greg of Baneberry; brothers, J. Paul Grooms of Wilmington, NC, Charles Grooms and Stacey Grooms of Fayetteville, NC and Murray Grooms of Rocky Mount, NC; sisters, Lucille Black, Joyce Colman, Sue Cain and Elizabeth Melvin all of Fayetteville, NC and Ernestine Cox of Washington, NC. Family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine. Graveside interment service will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11:00am in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Mark McFadden officiating.
