Mamie A. Owenby

MAMIE A. OWENBY, age 104, of White Pine, TN went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 27, 2010. She was a member of Edward?s Chapel United Methodist Church and was retired after many years of service from the White Pine School Cafeteria. Preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Owenby (1956); daughter, Estelle; son, Gordon; and parents, Ike and Ida Thornton Hill; sisters, Gladys Hance, Inez Hensley and Ruby Gann. She is survived by her daughters, Faris Austin, Carol Ann Bailey and husband, Stergal, and Gwen Smith and husband Larry; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; special friend, Lorraine Wylie. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 8:00 pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel, White Pine with Rev. Christine Bean officiating. Graveside interment service Monday, 11:00 am at Seahorn?s Chapel Cemetery, Dandridge with Rev.Charlie Harkleroad presiding. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the charity of your choice in her memory. Family will receive friends Sunday evening, 6:00 to 8:00 pm prior to service.
