Mable "Jean" Smith

SMITH, MABLE (JEAN) - age 85, of New Market, TN, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Eugene Smith; daughters, Charlene Scarlett and Faye Hickle; brothers, Bud Talley and Roger Talley. She was retired from Magnavox after 42 years of service. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Watson and husband Don of Jefferson City, TN, and Teresa Smith-Giles and husband Wesley of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, Mike Hickle, Rebecca Hubbard and husband Nathan, Tommy Scarlett and wife Carol Ann, and Chris Hickle and wife Miranda; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; sisters, Elizabeth Cockrum and Margaret Devotie; brother, Fain Talley. Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, with Dr. Richard Emmertt and Rev. Larry Dye officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
