MABEL WILLIAMS ARNOLD, age 75, of Dandridge, TN passed away Friday evening, December 14, 2007. She was born April 29, 1932 in Claiborne County, TN, the daughter of the late Arch and Lillie Williams, of which she is the last surviving member of that family, having been preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. She was the widow and dedicated pastor's wife of the late Rev. James T. "Tim" Arnold, who was a Methodist minister who served churches in the Holston Conference and Morristown District for over 40 years. She was always willing and faithful to work along beside her beloved husband during all his ministry and upon his death while serving McCampbell's chapel UMC, she graciously assumed the duties as pastor and continued their ministry for the church and community as she was committed to doing God;s work. Mabel was a member of the Dandridge First United Methodist church, where she served as church secretary for 17 years, was past president of the United Methodist Women, member of the church choir and was active in all ministries of the church. She was also active in the community, having served as past president of the Dandridge Garden Club, member of the Martha Dandridge Chapter $ 438, Order of the Eastern Star. Mabel Arnold is one special lady who has made a difference in the lives of many people throughout her life and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Kay and Lynn Freeman of Charleston, TN, and J. T. and Susan Arnold of Sevierville, TN; grandchildren, Betsy and Jason Wood, Raellen and Greg Simpson, Laura Arnold and Travis and Trevor Freeman; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Addi Wood; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2007 at the Dandridge First United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry DeVault and Rev. Ron Matthews officiating. Interment graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Eastview Memorial Gardens. The family requests that memorials be made to the Dandridge First United Methodist Church Building and Grounds Fund, P. O. Box 8, Dandridge, TN 37725.
