(MILLARD) WHITE, age 87, of Newport, TN, went to be with his Lord on July 26, 2006 at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. He was a member of Cave Hill Baptist Church, where he was a former pastor. He began his ministry at age 19 and pastored nineteen different churches over 61 years, retiring in 1998. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, S. M. White, Sr. and Carrie White; brothers, Clyde, Clayton, Willard, Caholom and S. M. White, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy White and Ruby Pate; daughter-in-law, Magretha White. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Norton White of Newport; son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Evelyn White of Rockford, TN, and son, Jim White of Jonesborough, TN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, , Rev. Raymond and Jackie White of Cookeville; sisters-in-law, Kate Cook and Evelyn White; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ralph and Maxine Stokely. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2006 at Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Dr. Don Mitchell, Reverend James Suggs and Revered Fred Cagle officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Pleasant Grove Piney Church Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
