Luther Mac Salley

LUTHER MAC SALLEY, 70 years young, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on April 23, 2022 after a vicious battle with Covid-19.  Luther was born on Tuesday, March 18, 1952 in Ypsilanti, Michigan  to parents James Oscar Salley and Mallie Combs-Salley.  In 1976, Luther and Mary Lynn Joseph were married in Hazard, KY, and had two children, Jonathan Isaac Salley and Kristy Dawn Salley.  In 2000, Luther met his current wife, Rutheda.  They enjoyed touring the US and Canada while hauling freight (glass) for A. J. Metler, Flannery & Sons, and Moore Freight Service. Luther is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mallie; brother, James Oscar Salley, Jr; sister, Shirley Naylor, her husband William and their son, James; brother-in-law, Jack Robinson.  Luther is survived by his wife, Rutheda; his two children, Jonathan and Kristy; daughter-in-law, Leslie Salley; and his five grandchildren, Hannah, Katelyn, Leann and Zachary Salley, and  Brinley Nicely;  sister, Glenda Robinson.  He will be greatly missed.  Services will be held at a later date.
