Luther D. Morgan

LUTHER D. MORGAN, age 85, of New Market, TN went peacefully home to be with the Lord Sunday morning, October 19, 2014. Luther was a lifelong member of Piedmont Baptist Church in Dandridge, TN, where he served as a deacon. He was a veteran of the Korean War and received the Bronze Star. Luther retired from Magnavox after 38 years. He loved sports and coached little league baseball for Piedmont. He loved his family and being out on his farm. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Hester Chandler Morgan; 3 sons, David Morgan (Terri), Darrell Morgan (Kathleen), Ross Morgan (Kathy); 4 grandchildren, Samuel Morgan, Jeffrey Morgan (Zandra), Jessica Morgan Reagan (Josh), Will Morgan (Haley); 1 great grandson, Brayden Morgan; many nieces and nephews, and brother George Morgan. Funeral services, Tuesday, October 21, 2014, 7:00pm at Piedmont Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Neal officiating and the interment graveside service will be Wednesday, 11:00am at Piedmont Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Luther Morgan can be sent to Piedmont Baptist Church, 1226 W. Dumplin Valley Rd, Dandridge, TN 37725. The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to the funeral service at the church.
