Luther "L.C." Batson

Luther “L.C.” Batson, age 92 of Dandridge, passed away at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare Systems on Saturday, February 5, 2022. He is a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. L.C. is a retired machinist from American Enka, he also retired from Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Co. and a former Alderman in the Town of Dandridge. He is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Ruby Rainwater Batson, daughter, Kim Batson Jones, son, Donald Batson, step-daughter, Dinah Hensley Vann, brother, Condon Batson and sister Kern Henderson. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lois Batson, sons, Frank (Donna) Batson and Bill (Kathy) Batson, daughter, Jeannie (Ed) Thornton, daughter-in-law Lynn Batson, grandsons and pallbearers, Luke, Josh, Matt, Micah, Brandon and Brent Batson, Mitchell Jones other grandchildren, Jonathan Thornton, Belinda Brown and Elizabeth Tetrick, brother, Tom (Betty) Batson, sister, Emily Fox, sister-in-law, Celeste Batson and numerous great-grandchildren, extended family, Carol and Ronnie Burgin, Pam and Brad Burgin and their families.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, 11:00am in Dandridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jason McIntosh and Rev. Sherry Franklin officiating. L.C. will Lie In State on Monday, February 7, 2022 between the hours of 2:00pm and 6:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. The family has requested that In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
