LUCY CORBETT FRANKLIN, age 92 of Dandridge, TN passed away Friday afternoon, November 18, 2011 at her home following a brief illness. She was born and raised in Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Horace and Alice Martin Corbett. Lucy was an active and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church and was also a popular and much admired member of the Oakland community where she was always active in civic activities. She was owner and operator of the Milldale Farm Bed & Breakfast for 29 years and was known by many as Ms. Lucy Â?Best Cook in Jefferson CountyÂ?. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hood Franklin; daughter, Alice Jo Mitchell; sisters, Vira Hall, Hazel May and Sue Moore; brothers, Frank Corbett, Ben Corbett, Walter Corbett, Martin Corbett and J.R. Corbett. She is survived by her children, daughter, Doris Lynn Collins and son, Nathan Hood Franklin; grandchildren, Jere, Jon, Jeff, Breanna, Kris, Jimmy, Donna and Lindsay; 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchilden; sister, Dorothy Miller; several nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Stacy Allen and Cherry Gass. Funeral services Monday, November 21, 2011, 2:00pm at the First United Methodist Church of Dandridge with Rev. Ron Hammond and Rev. Bill Kilday officiating. Interment to follow in Hebron Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill May, Jeff Collins, Aaron Anderson, Drew Collins, Justin Collins and David Franklin.
