LU JENKINS PECK, age 83, of Jefferson City, TN was born on September 4, 1937 and passed away on June 8, 2021 with her family by her side. She was a member of Grace Point Baptist Church, and formerly a long time member of Montrose Baptist Church in Rockville, MD. She was born and raised in Laurinburg, NC, lived most of her adult life in Rockville, MD, and retired to Tennessee. She was a talented pianist, gifted elementary school teacher and Sunday School teacher, but her greatest joy was as mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lu loved studying God’s word and sharing the truth of the scriptures with others. Preceded in death by her husband, James Peck; parents, Edgar and Lottie Jones Jenkins; sisters, Margaret Mayo Critcher, Edna Wrenn Jenkins and Sarah Barfield. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Karin Peck of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Dale Vento of Talbott, TN; grandchildren, Amanda Parrish (Coy), Jared Hull (Emma), Andrew, Aaron and Allison Peck; great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Heidi Parrish. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Grace Point Baptist Church with Rev. George Miller, Rev. Jimmy Peck, and Rev. Trevor Roberts officiating. Following the service, family and friends will proceed to Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery for the graveside service. The family will receive friends at Grace Point Baptist Church from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
