HAIGH, age 84, of Talbott, TN passed away at home on Thursday, October 16, 2008, after 4 years of living with the increasing challenges of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, where he started his career as an electrical engineer. He was transferred to Batavia, NY and eventually to Tennessee, where he retired as an engineering manager for North American Phillips in Knoxville. Louis was an avid reader and volunteered at the Jefferson City Library for several years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Margaret Haigh; brother, Edwin ?Bud? Haigh; sisters, Betty Haigh and Dorothy McCormick. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Haigh of Talbott, TN; sister, Annette Ginion of White Haven, PA; brother, John Haigh of Pennsburg, PA; children, Linda (Stewart) Hough of Madera, CA; Daniel Haigh of Talbott, TN; Patricia (Gary) Doody of Batavia, NY; Gary (Maryann) Haigh of Batavia, NY; Sharon (Walt) Chan of Knoxville, TN; Scott (Missy) Haigh of Baneberry, TN; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2008 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Route 92 in Jefferson City, TN. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Dan Whitman presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army held a special place in Lou?s heart since they aided his father at a difficult time in his life.
