Lorraine Marie Hawkins, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2019. She was born on August 7, 1922 in Wynona, OK the daughter of the late Elmer and Stell Hayworth Brown. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three sisters; Geraldine Poarch, Betty Dyer and Burdetta Woolridge, one step-son Dale Hawkins and one granddaughter Laura Zahorak. She is survived by her husband Carl, two sons; John J Zahorak of Hawaii and Donald Zahorak of Cocoa, FL, two step-daughters; Mrs. Tim (Brenda) Hooker of Boca Raton, FL and Mrs John (Doris) Brown of Myersville, MD, one step-son, Carl Hawkins of Boca Raton, FL, 15 grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and many friends. During WWI Lorraine was a welder in a shipyard in the state of Washington. During the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s Lorraine was very active and held several offices in the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Florida. She retired from GELCO in Minnesota in 1987 as a supervisor. Lorraine was a member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church in Newport, TN. The family has requested that in Lieu of Flowers Memorial Donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Shiners Children’s Hospital. There will be gathering of friends at Perine Funeral Home, 1384 S. Pike St, Shinnston, WV from 12:30pm to 1:30pm prior to the service. Graveside Interment Service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019, 2:00pm in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Enterprise, WV
