Loretta Ingle Sorrells, age 64 of Jefferson City, TN passed away peacefully at 2:40 a.m. Saturday morning, December 14, 2002 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville following a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Ingle; mother Emma Deane Ingle Woltemate; step father, Bill Woltemate; brother and sister in law, Rev. Harold and JoAnn Sorrells. She was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City and was a former employee of Carson Newman college, the Jefferson City High School, Jefferson County Board of Education and Greeneville City School System. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Fred Sorrells of the home; daughter and son in law, Sherry and Mark Finchum of Jefferson City; sons and daughters in law, Tim and Tracy Sorrells of Greenville, SC, Clark and Karen Sorrells of Asheville, NC; grandchildren Brent, Eric, and Katie McAfee of Jefferson City; Caleb, Jordan and Emma Sorrells of Greenville, SC, Lillie, Hannah and Jacob Sorrells of Asheville, NC; brother and sister in law, Cecil and Faye Ingle of Dyer, TN; brother and sister in law, Richard and Dorothy Burleson of Kingsport; sister and brother in law, Shirley and Madison Carey of Memphis; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2002 from the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City with Dr. Gene Wilder and Dr. Joe Stacker conducting services with music by Louis and Mary Charlotte Ball. Graveside Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at 2 p.m. (CST) in Foster Cemetery in Petersburg, TN. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday prior to services at the church.
