He was born on May 10, 1925 in Petros, TN. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, a Seaman Second Class, earning a Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic-Pacific, and earning four Bronze Stars and a Phillipine Liberation Medal. He served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He was employed with TVA for 27 years. Preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lon Trail. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Freels Trail; son, Daniel Trail; daughter, Pamela Bible, all of New Market; grandchildren, Amber, Shane, Miranda, Courtney and Breanna Trail, all of New Market; great grandchildren, Bailey, Trinity, Nathan and Hayden Trail. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel. Family and friends will gather at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at Flat Gap Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside services with military honors by the East TN Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
