Lonnie "Jack" Messamore

Lonnie “Jack” Messamore, age 84 of New Market, TN passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023.  Jack was of the Baptist faith and was a logger, sawmiller, and farmer all his life. He had a great passion for the farm and his farm animals.  Jack worked many long days, but he still found time to be a dedicated turkey and deer hunter and fisherman.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lon and Ida Messamore, (Jack lived to be the same age as his father but surpassed his life by 5 days), brothers, Ed and Don Messamore; and sisters, Edith, Dot, Nola, and Mary.

Jack is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha J. Messamore; brother, Bob Messamore; sister, Bernice Kerr; a nephew that was raised like a brother, Steve (Joan) Messamore; and one that was raised like a son, Zane S. (Cale) Messamore, special niece, Pennie Eldreth, several family that are thought of as grandchildren, Charlie, Cooper and Evie Joan Messamore, Timber and Dakota Seals and Jack Evan Bruce Messamore,  along with several other nieces and nephews that were specially loved and thought of as immediate family, special friend, Eugene (Aline) Lyles and special caregivers Pam Buckner, and Amedisys nurse Debbie Webb.

Visitation will be at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Dandridge Monday, April 3, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be Monday, April 3, 2023 at 7:00pm with Pastor Carl Bryant officiating.  Interment will be 1:00pm Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Hillcrest Cemetery.
