Lonnie Laney

LONNIE LANEY, age 83, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Thursday, January 1, 2009 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Mr. Laney was known as an honest, kind, caring man of integrity with a positive outlook on life. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Avis Laney; parents, Walker and Margaret Laney; and eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Glenn Hamrick of Jefferson City, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Lori Laney of Peachtree City, GA, and Jack and Cher Laney of Franklinville, NC; grandchildren, Laurie Ann Hamrick of Jefferson City, TN, Tina Whittaker of Jefferson City, TN, Joe Hamrick of Creal Springs, IL, Christina Laney of Peachtree City, GA, Andy Laney of Peachtree City, GA, Jessica Laney of Peachtree City, GA, Lisa Laney of Largo, FL, Stephanie Laney of Seminole, FL; and several nieces, nephews and other family members. The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to the entire kind and loving staff at Jefferson City Health and Rehab Center for going above and beyond with their personal love and care over the past year. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, January 4, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday morning from the Farrar Funeral Home East Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Norris officiating.
