MYNATT, age 90, of Cocoa, Florida, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Huntington Nursing Center in Rockledge, Florida. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City for over 60 years, where at one time she sang alto in the church choir and was chairman of the Myra Fielden Circle. She was a longtime homemaker and office manager for her husband?s plumbing business (Mynatt Plumbing Company). She was born May 2, 1916 in Newport, TN, the seventh of eleven children of the late Arthur A. and Lola Burke Cates. Deane married William L. (Bill) Mynatt on November 30, 1942. Bill was a plumber and sheet metal fabricator in Jefferson City for many years. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1978. She was also preceded by brothers, Walter, Wallace, Haynes and Benjamin Cates; sisters, Madge Sims, Marjorie C. (John W.) Hudson, Vera and Juanita Cates, who died in infancy. Survived by daughter, Betty J. Mynatt of Cocoa, FL; brother, Donald H. Cates of Fair Oaks, CA; sister, Joanne C. (John B., Sr.) Deakins of Jonesboro, TN; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Jim Dampier officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Westview Cemetery.
