Lois Elizabeth Stockburger Williams Whittaker

Lois Elizabeth Stockburger Williams Whittaker, passed away on December 28, 2010 at Agape Senior of Conway, in Conway, South Carolina. She was born in Ringgold, Georgia on November 30, 1921. She had two older sisters Grace Powell, and Ruth Bennett, and three older brothers, Ralph, Robert, and Cecil Stockburger, all who have preceded her in death. She married Hugh Dorsey Williams in Ringgold Georgia and later moved to Jefferson City, TN, where they lived for 53 years until his death in 1993. After Dorsey's death she was married to her life long friend, James A. Whittaker for 15 years until his death in 2009. She loved her church and was a member of the Intercessory Prayer Group, United Methodist Women, and First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City. She retired as the activities coordinator at Jefferson County Nursing Home. After retirement she was still involved with the community as a Pink Lady at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Another of Lois's loves was helping friends and neighbors with all of her accomplished talents; sewing, cooking, and too many crafts to mention. After moving to South Carolina permanently for health reasons, east Tennessee was always on her mind. She is survived by daughter, Marilyn W. Smith; so-in-law Donald C. Smith, and granddaughter DeLaney C. Smith, all of Conway, South Carolina; along with many special neices and nephews. Also survived by two life long friends, Carolyn Lethco Carden, and Chuck Watson. Graveside funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Jefferson City, TN. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, TN.
