LOIS DAVIS SLOAN, age 93, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, where she taught Sunday School for several years, and was a graduate of Carson Newman College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert R. Sloan and son, Wayne Sloan. She is survived by her son, Joe Bill Sloan and wife, Brenda, of Jefferson City, Tennessee; daughters, Ann Johnson and husband, Harry, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Marcile Pemberton and husband, Jay, of Hebron, Kentucky; grandsons, Scott Johnson and wife, Jane, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, Russell and Ryan Sloan of Seymour, Tennessee; granddaughters, Rebecca Sloan of Seymour, Tennessee; Julia Ann, Rachel and Emma Pemberton of Hebron, Kentucky; great grandsons, Spencer and Blake Johnson of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Valerie Sloan of Seymour, Tennessee; sister, Johnnie D. Barker of Atlanta, Georgia; cousin, Mildred Clark; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Dampier officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.
