Broadway Blvd. Jefferson City, TN 37760 Phone (865) 475-3892 Fax (865) 475-9916 OBITUARY: LINNISE SULLIVAN MASSIE, loving wife, mother and grandmother, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, passed away at 6:10 p.m., July 26, 2004 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, Jefferson Memorial Pink Ladies, Lost Creek Women�s Golf League, Jefferson Coffee Bowling League, Jefferson City Swim Club, and Lès Amies of Carson Newman. Preceded in death by her parents, W. Z. and Jessie Sullivan; brothers, W. Z. and James Sullivan. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Ernest Howard Massie; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Richard Couch of Livermore, California, Joan and Danny Bolden of Jefferson City, Tennessee, Jill Massie-Braun and Ian Braun of Jefferson City, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Janet Massie of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kristin Couch Walker, Erin Couch, Kevin Bolden, Kieran Braun, Nicholas and Elissa Massie; great grandchildren, Devin and Dylan Walker; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 1, 2004 at First Baptist Church of Jefferson City with Dr. Gene Wilder officiating. Family and friends will gather at 9:45 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2004 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 10:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2004 at First Baptist Church prior to the funeral service. Linnise was known for her deep love of and devotion to her children, grandchildren, and children in the church and community. As a tribute to and visual memorial of her love for children, a mural will be painted in the children�s wing of the First Baptist Church in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church Children�s Ministry Mural Fund , 1610 Russell Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760. Additionally, Linnise was passionate about supporting the cause of Autism research.
