Lewis Herman Stansberry

Lewis "Herman" Stansberry, Sr. , age 79 of Strawberry Plain, Tennessee went to be with his heavenly father on Monday, July 15, 2002 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice Center in Knoxville. He was a member and retired deacon of Timothy Street Baptist Church, member of Boiler Workers Local 453 for over 50 years and a member of the Jefferson County Shriners Club. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lilburn and Effie Stansberry; daughter, patricia Stansberry; sister, Margaret Stokes, Mildred Ray and brother, Joe Stansberry. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Ingram Stansberry of Strawberry Plains; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Sonya Stansberry of Norris, Tennessee and Bud and Robin Stansberry of Strawberry Plains; grandchildren, Felisha Rhodes, Russell and Jessica Stansberry' great grandchildren, Garrett Thodes and Jayden Stansberry; brothers, Ju. W. Stansberry of Dandridge, Ed Stansberry of New Market; brothers and sisters-in-law, Everett and Shirley Stansberry of Strawberry Plains, Junior and Janice Stansberry of Talbott, Fred and Judy Stansberry of Strawberry Plains; sisters and brothers-in-lw, Leona and Ben Lewis of Knoxville, katherine and Sherman Richard of Strawberry Plains, Barbara and Ed Trent of Strawberry Plains, Judy and Lonnie Hogan of Morristown, Sue and Steve Swann of New Market, Betty and Bob Cain of New Market; and several nieces and nephews. a special thanks to family and friends for their loving support and prayers. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gibbs Hammonds officiating. Masonic service will be conducted prior to the 8:00 p.m. funeral service. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. thursday, July 18, 2002 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. interment service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Residential Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938.
